needles needling needlessly with little thread... or much of anything else...

A NEW BEGINNING

Here's my first blog entry. It's not such an exciting one for the simple reason that I'm still trying to figure it all out... webpage, html, blogging, et cetera... It's all new to me. What I hope this open-journal will contain once I get it going is simply an honest rarely objective look on the world from my point of view.

To start with. I live in Paris, France. I work as a day receptionist in a small two star hotel next to one of the major train stations. My work can be very boring. It mostly consists of staring out the front door from my little desk area where I can inspect my little stretch of sidewalk and safely observe the prostitutes, the pimps, the tricks, the grilled chestnut vendors, the candy salesman, the drug dealers, the undercover cops - whom I can't tell apart from the bad guys, they're all tall, big, strong, and they carry guns in their belts - the blind tourists, the businessmen and businesswomen who pour in and out of the train station, the small time pickpockets, the beggars, and the occasional Jesus-man. I've been at the job for two months and I'm sick of it already, though I've done worse to earn a living. Basically, I'm allergic to work, especially when it takes the form of working for other people who impose upon my gentle person strict hours, demand that I be on time, that I do their bidding, that I not come to work intoxicated, that I be responsible, and that I thank them for it all. I'm allergic to being the middleman between my boss and the landlord, the electric-gas company, the taxman, and the liquor store.

Talk to ya'll again soon.
