BRUTUS IS BACK!
Brutus likes to:
- roll around on the couch when I’ve forgotten to put his blanket on it and thus getting his brown hair stuck in the orange velvet;
- spill his water on the floor when he’s drank what he wanted then look at me with sad eyes five minutes later when I haven’t filled his water bowl back up;
- lay in the bathroom and sleep several hours at a time – I have tile in the bathroom and the AC in the living room shoots its cold spurts of air in that direction;
- come wake me up at four in the morning though I’ve left the front door open and he can come in and out as he pleases – with this virus he’s getting over, he’s prone to have accidents he can’t necessarily hold in very long, so I leave the door unlocked at night (he knows how to open the door, which closes more or less on its own);
- wag his tail and look at me like what? after he’s chewed a poetry book... and he only likes great literature, never would he be caught dead chewing anything less than Rimbaud or Rilke or the likes;
- run straight at me when I call him and do circles in between and around my legs, wagging his tail like it’s the best thing ever;
- be given treats... probably one of his favorite activities, he loves it when he gets a treat;
- hang out next to me when I sit at my desk hours at a time (I usually do nothing much that's constructive, and he gets a good snooze in);
- roll around on his back and get his tummy scratched for as long as possible – I swear, he almost purrs, and for a 90 pound dog, that’s a little weird;
- (last but not least) hump anything that moves on four legs.
Basically, he's a great dog, and I'm happy he's home.
